This form starts a conversation, not an application. Nothing is submitted to any authority when you send it, and nothing commits you to working with us.
We read it within one business day and come back to you within 24 to 48 hours, in English or French, by email or phone — whichever you tell us you prefer. The first exchange is about your project: where you are, where you want to be, what has already been done, and what a realistic sequence looks like from here.
If we are a good fit, we set out the scope and the fees in writing before any work starts. If your situation calls for a regulated legal opinion, we say so, and that part goes to our partner lawyers, members of the Quebec Bar, or a regulated immigration consultant. Either way, you leave the first conversation knowing what the next step is.
Questions about the consultation
Yes. The first conversation costs nothing and carries no obligation. Its purpose is to understand your project and tell you plainly whether we can help, what the sequence would look like, and what it would cost. If we are not the right fit for you, we say so.
Within 24 to 48 hours on business days. If you write over a weekend or a public holiday, expect a reply on the next working day. We answer every form we receive, including the ones we cannot take on.
Nothing is required for a first conversation. It helps if you can say what status you hold today, what you are aiming for, and any dates that already constrain you — a programme start, a permit expiry, a family event. If you have already received a decision or a letter from an authority, mentioning it early changes the conversation.
No, and nobody can honestly promise that. Assessing a specific case and advising on its prospects is regulated legal work in Canada; when your project needs it, that work goes to our partner lawyers, members of the Quebec Bar, or a regulated immigration consultant. What a first conversation can do is explain how the process works, what it will ask of you, and where projects like yours commonly get stuck.
Yes, and most people do. The entire preparation phase happens remotely, by email and video call, across time zones. We schedule around yours rather than ours.
It is used to prepare our reply and for nothing else. We do not sell it and we do not pass it to third parties for marketing. Our Privacy Policy sets out how long we keep it and how to ask us to delete it.
No. Plenty of people write to us a year before they intend to move, and that is usually the better time to make contact rather than the worse one. Knowing the sequence early is what creates room to act; there is no expectation that you commit at the end of a first call.
Yes. The form exists because it lets us arrive at the conversation already knowing the basics, which makes the call shorter and more useful. But a phone call or an email works just as well if you would rather start there — our number and address are in the footer of every page.
That is a normal starting point and not a reason to wait. Many people arrive with a destination in mind and no view of what it requires, or with two options and no way to compare them. Describing the situation as it actually is — including the parts that are undecided — gets you a more useful answer than presenting a plan you are not committed to.
Usually 20 to 30 minutes. Long enough to understand the project and give you a real answer about the sequence and the cost; short enough that you can take it on a lunch break. If your situation needs more than that, we say so and book a proper slot rather than rushing it.
Frequently. Refused applications, expired status, an application that has sat without a decision, documents that were submitted incorrectly — these are ordinary parts of the work rather than disqualifying ones. Tell us plainly what happened; an accurate picture of the record is worth more than a tidy one, and it is what lets a regulated professional advise properly if that is what the situation needs.
